Memorial for James McKinney

James wesley McKinney, 98, lifelong resident of Madison County, died March 30, 2008, in Louisville near the home of his daughters. He was a life-long farmer in the Moberly community. He was a long-time member of the Methodist faith and he was also a 50-year member of the Waco Masonic Lodge.

Born April 30, 1909, in Richmond, Ky., Mr. McKinney was born to the late Virginia Fox McKinney and James Wesley McKinney Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Rice McKinney.

He is survived by two daughters, Leona (Raymon) Cope and Jean (Don) Gilbert, and three grandchildren, Donna Jean Gilbert, Dr. Tamela Driskell and James Randall Cope. He had 10 grandchildren and leaves behind a valued friend, Mr. Virgil L. Brewer, with whom he spent many precious moments.

Services were conducted April 1, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Strange officiating. His internment was held in the Richmond Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Gilbert, Raymon Cope, James Cope, Louis Driskell, Braxton Adkins, and Virgil Brewer.

Memorial for Don Katzman

Donald Byrant Katzman, husband of Wanda Elder Katzman, passed away on Tuesday April 2, 2008 at the Richmond Health & Rehab-Kenwood Home. He was the son of the late Charles Gus and Gertrude Cammack Katzman.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United states Navy where he served from 1952 through 1961. Mr. Katzman was retired from the United States Post Office where he worked as a Postal Clerk.

Survivors include his wife Wanda Eller Katzman, one daughter, Debbie Eisen (Mitch) of Lexington, Ky; one son, Donald Katzman Jr; one brother, Forrest Katzman and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Katzman, Robert katzman and Kenneth Katzman.

Pallbearers: Rodney Cobb, Steve Jackson, Mike Hensley, Clay Tussey, Larry Shearer and Danny Renfro.

Memorial for Elsie Marquardt

Elsie I. Marquardt, 95, widow of Harvey R. Marquardt, passed away in here home on Eastern Hills Drive, Tuesday, April 1, 2008.

She was born in Sanford, Ill., the daughter of the late Henry and Nellie Dossett Smith. Mrs. Marquardt was a homemakerand volunteer for many worthy organizations, including churches she belonged to in Fincastle, Tenn., Wyandotte, Mich., Piqua, Ohio, DeLeon Springs, Fla., Paint Lick, Ky., and her final church, First United Church in Richmond, Ky.

She was also active in the Red Cross, PTA, and served as President for the YWCA in Piqua, Ohio. She had many fond memories of her relatives and many friends that she had made over the years in places she lived--Fincastle, Tenn., Wyandotte, Mich,, Piqua, Ohio, DeLeon Springs, Fla., Paint Lick, Ky., and Richmond, Ky.

She is survived by: her daughter, Sandra Bingham of Richmond; four grandchildren, Barry M. Bingham of Winchester, Susan A. Bingham of Richmond, Rana D. Lakes (Greg) of Monroe, Ohio, Amanda J. (Scott) Choate of Waco; two stepgrandchildren, Wlyse C. (Randy) Popp of Piqua, Ohio, and Timothy R. (Judy) Bingham of Berea; six great-grandchildren, Brittany D. Bingham, Jessica N. Spillman, AlexSandra R. Spillman, Jordan A. Lakes, Hannah D. Lakes, and Shiloh F. Lakes; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Amy(Gary) Powell of Tipp City, Ohio; six stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister Lola Lynch of Trenton, Mich.; two brothers, John Smith of Southgate, Mich., Glen Smith and a sister-in-law, Anna Lee, both of Trenton Mich., and many nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Smith and Nellie Lee Smith.

Memorial For Charles F. Buck May 3, 1924-October 20, 2009 Jean Buck

Mr. Charles F. Buck was born on May 3, 1924 in Fairmont, Indiana to Ray and Nellie Williams Buck, both or whom preceded him in death. He was a graduate or Indiana University and served in the United states Marine Corps. Charles was a long-time member or the First United Methodist Church of Richmond, Kentucky. Mr. Buck also belonged to the Masonic Lodge and was a shriner. Survivors include: one son, Jim Buck (Cheryl), of Richmond; one daughter, Karen Linville (Larry) of Berea; three grandchildren, Lori Cobb (Scott) and Brian Linville (Mary Anne), both of Berea, and Ohad Linville (Kelly} of Hendersonville, TN; ten great-grandchildren, two brothers, J. Merrill Buck(Jo) and Dwight Ray) Buck(Millie); one sister, Oarol Pressier; and several nieces and nephews.
